Once in a very big and dense jungle there lived a deer named Dicky. He was a very attractive and healthy little deer. He had a friend, a crow named Blakey. They played whole day together and shared their food together. Blakey uses to bring fruits high up from the tree and Dicky use to enjoy eating the juicy fruits and the same, both of them had an excellent time spend together. Dicky was lucky to have a friend like Blakey. Blakey always helped Dicky from the dangers. Dicky and Blakey had a fine understanding; Blakey could smell the danger high up from the tree and inform Dicky to go on. Dicky was a young and fleshy deer and most attractive among all. His other friends invited him to play with them, but he always enjoyed the company of Blakey. Dicky was rather more childish and Blakey was wise enough to make Dicky recognize the danger.
One day a clever Wolf, named Willie came their roaming, he could hear some joyful hum of some animals.
He could not believe in what he saw, "Wow, what am I seeing, a deer and a crow playing together, looks like they have a deep friendship.
Hmm... I will see to it. The greedy and clever Willie was jealous of their friendship. On seeing the healthy and fleshy deer the mouth of Willie watered, he had an eye stuck on the deer. Willie had dreadful intention on Dicky and his friend.
One day Dicky left far away from his place by grazing the tender grass, Blakey warned him not to go too far, it might be dangerous to hike. Dicky was very fluffy little deer and the most joyful one to freak away anywhere. At the meantime Willie followed wherever Dicky went, Willie was at a fair chance to track Dicky in his trap and enjoy his fleshy meat.
Willie decided to make friendship with Dicky. Willie helped Dicky in finding food and play with him, but Blakey was unhappy with their friendship. Blakey knew that Willie was selfish and had terrible intentions in his mind. Willie tried his best to keep Blakey away from Dicky.
Blakey flew over Dicky and followed him as a guard; Dicky was overwhelmed by the companionship of Willie and ignored who truly Willie was.
One morning Willie decided to put a trap to grab hold of Dicky, he arranged some juicy and sweet fruits and lay near to the trap. He went to Dicky and told him that he had a surprise for him. Dicky was excited to see the surprise, he asked, "can I bring my friend Blakey, along with me, he will be happy too".
"No, it's a special surprise for you alone", said Willie in anger. "What is Blakey supposed to do with it?"
"He is my best friend and we spent plenty of excellent and terrible periods jointly, it will be unfair on my path to forget him." said Dicky.
"Nothing is unfair, that Blakey crow might be somewhere on the tree dozing, let's not waste too much of time and hurry", said Willie.
Willie forcefully took Dicky with him and was happy that he was successful in trapping Dicky. It was almost evening and Willie left Dicky near the trap. Dicky was happy to see plenty of fruits lay in front of him, he began eating them one by one and was getting closer to the trap and suddenly he was caught.
Dicky was unable to understand what happened and looked around and could not see Willie anywhere, he escaped. Dicky then realized that Willie was responsible for his trap. He cried aloud all night in pain. In the meantime, Blakey flew over everywhere in search of his friend but could not trace him. He could hear a crying sound from the deep woods and followed the sound and found Dicky in trouble.
Dicky was tired and fell on the ground helpless. Blakey looked around and could not see anyone nearby and slowly came near Dicky and whispered in his ears, don't wake up until I call you, keep lying till the trap is opened. Dicky comes in senses and listen to the whispers of Blakey. He was happy to see Blakey came to his help. Blakey told him to lie until the trap is opened and the trapper will think you are dead and as soon as the trap will be opened I shall make a sound, you can escape and run as fast as you can.
Dicky understood the plan and lay on the ground as if he was dead. Next morning the trapper came in search if anything was caught in the trap and was happy and surprised to see a Deer. He immediately removed the trap and saw the poor Deer was dead. He was winding his trap and immediately Blakey cried aloud, making a rash sound.
The trapper was annoyed with the sound and threw his axe towards the Crow, but could not seek at the Crow and the axe fell somewhere else, he could hear another crying sound and discovered a Wolf was killed by his axe. The axe fell right on the Willie's head and he was killed. Meanwhile Dicky woke up and ran as fast as he could and lost in the dense woods. The trapper was unlucky; he could not catch the Deer. But Dicky was lucky to escape the death. It was his true friend Blakey, who helped him escape death.
