Karl Stefanovic’s estranged wife Cassandra Thorburn has finally broken her silence following her split from the popular Today host earlier this month.
She took to social media to share her feelings with the world in relation to Today's recent ratings win.
“Apparently Today Show finally won a year,” she said, referring to their ratings battle with Channel Seven’s Sunrise.
“This took a huge toll on my family and I, and I’m congratulating myself today for all the effort that went into making that happen.”
The 44-year-old continued: “The suggestions, the story ideas, the constant counseling of questions for years.
“I’m giving myself a pat on the back tonight, as I know many people will also know how much effort I put into it,” she said.
She then went on to say that she would be celebrating the win with a bottle of wine that was sent to her personally from Karl’s manager as a further congratulations.
“Found a lovely tipple to cheers myself,” Cassandra wrote. “Thanks for the red Sharon Finnigan SF Celebrity Management.”
The pair reportedly split earlier this year.
Karl has repeatedly praised Cass through his rise to fame for being instrumental in helping him reach the pinnacles of success.
"She gave up a promising career," Karl said back in 2015. "I'm forever thankful and appreciative of that."
Even Karl's colleague Ben Fordham has previously mentioned how important Cassandra has been in Karl's career.
"There's no question that Cass is a crucial ingredient in Karl's success," Ben said.
