Homemade dress wins Fashions on the Field

Myer Fashions on the Field Women's Racewear competition Olivia Moor and Runners Up Yvette Hardy and Charlotte Moor pose on Emirates Melbourne Cup Day at Flemington Racecourse on November 1, 2016 in Melbourne, Australia.

It was truly a family affair for the Melbourne Cup Fashions on the Field with two sisters taking out the competition with outfits designed by their mother.
Jewellery designer Olivia Moor came first in the competition with a burnt orange dress with white details and a tartan structural hat, all designed by her mum Alli.
"She's so clever," the 26-year-old said of her mum.
"She works in IT so it's like a hobby."

Her sister Charlotte, 27, also came third in the competition with a pale blue design with puffy sleeves also created by her mum.

The trio actually flew to Melbourne for the competition from Auckland.
"The three of us don't actually get much time together so it's nice for us to get together and do something that we all really enjoy," Olivia said.
Olivia will now go on to compete in the Victorian final of the Myer Fashions on the Field competition, alongside the Derby Day and Oaks Day winners.
The Victorian finalist will then compete in the national final of the competition, alongside winners from Tasmania, Western Australia, South Australia, NSW and Queensland.

Melbourne Cup is usually a colourful affair, a stark difference to Derby Day's black and white theme.

Pink was one of the most common choices for women on Cup day, with numerous variations seen around the VIP sections and around the track.
Last year's winning jockey Michelle Payne was wearing a pale pink dress with long sleeves and a flower headpiece, while model Jodi Anasta went for a slightly darker pink dress with puffy selves and a purple bow ribbon in her hair.
Blue was also a popular colour, with the second placed fashions on the field entry on Tuesday wearing a blue stripped off-the-shoulder top with a navy skirt.

© social Spoilers; Social media isn’t the real world.
Sam Frost and social media haven’t seemed to marry since the radio host burst onto our radar after The Bachelor and The Bachelorette.

Frost made headlines last month after she noticeably de-activated her social media accounts after relentless trolling and a New Idea report that Frost and her boyfriend Sasha Mielczarek were “spending less time together” and had “unfollowed each other on Instagram”.
And now, Frost has admitted that she temporarily re-activated her accounts and had a much more innocent, but still awkward, encounter with the medium than she anticipated.
“I wanted to print some photos, but all my best photos are on my Instagram.”
So, it was easy. She logged on, grabbed the photos she wanted and logged back out.
"But then, as I went to de-activate it I noticed I got so many direct messages from people who were like, "she's back!"
"Then I realised, anyone who has been tagged in a photo ever in the five years I have had Instagram got notified. Poor Sasha, he would've got notified about a million times but that's okay because I can easily say, 'hey, I re-activated because of this.'
"But obviously I've dated people in the past four or five years.... if I've just tagged you in a picture just ignore it. I'm so embarrassed."
Frost's awkward encounter with Instagram comes just weeks after she responded to the New Idea rumours in a furious open letter posted on her public Facebook account.
“New Idea get a f–king life! For the one millionth time, Sash and I have not split. In fact we are stronger than ever,” she wrote.
“Spoilers; Social media isn’t the real world. The media isn’t the real world. What’s real is the time you spend with your partner, the challenges you work through and the unconditional love and support we have for one another."
“We actually prefer to keep social media out of our relationship, because that is what works for us.”
